1: Overview
Each file you import will automatically generate a separate File Survey. Once imported, the File Survey functions similarly to a Forsta Survey in the Hub. This allows you to create Studio reports, set up Text Analytics (TA) workflows, and utilize auto-combined features.
After creating a File Survey, you can continue importing additional data into it. These additional files can include loops or new respondents for the survey, for example a weekly data import. These types of imports are done on the Survey Overview Page.
2: Rules and Limitations
2.1 Key Requirements
Respondent ID: Must be unique within the File Survey and cannot be 0. Every respondent must have an ID.
Separators for Multichoice and Grid Questions: Must use distinct characters from the set #, @, _, or $.
Question Codes: Cannot include special characters such as #, ., [, ], \, or /.
Regular Questions: Can only exist in one level of the imported data, except for Respondent ID (required in all imports) and loop keys (between different levels).
Question Name Length: Cannot exceed 100 characters.
2.2: System-Generated Options:
Respondent ID: Automatically created starting from the lowest available ID.
Interview Start: Uses the import date as the start date for all respondents.
Status: Defaults to "Complete" for all respondents unless manually specified as a categorical field.
2.3: Data Consistency
Metadata Consistency: When importing additional data, all metadata in the SPSS file must match the schema in the existing survey.
Data Import Validation: Validation is done on Question and Answer ID only. Changes to question text (e.g., from Gender to What is your gender) will not prevent the import.
2.4: Importing Loops
Loop Imports: Parent-level loops (keys) must be present in all sequential imported files.
Loop Import Validation: Requires identical Question and Answer ID as well as Text to match the existing schema. Any discrepancies will prevent the import.
3: Importing the SPSS File
